My best friend recently asked me this question. And probably
many of us ask themselves the same thing if not everyday, at least very often.
There are many theories. Some say, it is the society we live in, the
expectations we have or that the human beings have been like this for many years and nothing is going
to change. Everybody has an opinion, we all have something to say. And maybe
this is actually laying at the core of the problem and it is one of the reasons why we DON’T
get along recently and already for so many decades. You think I am f**** up, I
think you are and there is no middle ground where we are able to meet each
other. A gray zone where things are neither black or white. And even if it
seems like an everyday issue, something we face with our loved ones, our neighbors,
our friends at times, at some point it turns into a global issue. It creates
separation, wars and destruction. Everybody is f’up and everybody else is crazy
and we are not able to look inside ourselves and acknowledge our own
flaws.
There are different opinions and sides of one story. Here is
one of my points of view. It is from a more spiritual perspective. My
self-called ‘’spiritual’’ theory is that we disconnect more and more from our
consciousness which differs us from the animals and therefore we become nothing
more than consumers. Many of us are on a survival mode and the world became a
battlefield. The real human connection is rare. Scientifically the only
difference between us and animals is exactly the consciousness we possess. But we stopped
using it. The media tells us: “you live only once, take the most of
it!’’, “consume, have kids and don’t ask questions’’. Live in your bubble
without questioning your existence or the way the world is functioning. Make
kids, without a significant reason to do so.
Have you ever asked yourself why
we bring kids to this world? Many times just because of egocentric reasons: “Oh,
she/he looks, just like you!’’. But have you ever asked yourself what is this
individual going to bring to the world? Are you going to bring to the community
something or someone valuable who will make a difference or another creature which will waste oxygen and live in a dysfunctional world? You take care of this
helpless little creature while you can’t take care of your own self and you put
your own needs on a second place. That f*** you up. Have a job. Most of the
time just to be able to fulfill your material needs and to be able to treat
yourself and have something in your fridge. Well, nature has it all in store
for you. Until the big fishes took it and said you have to pay with your sweat
and hard work for that. Therefore (most of the time) you are doing something
that subconsciously you dislike. It f** you up.
But you like this way
of living because you don’t have to go outside of this bubble and fight for
your essential human rights. You DO NOT use your consciousness and potential in
order to change your situation and be able to really go out in the world and
create exceptional experiences in order to be able to give a different example for your kids when you are READY to have them and therefore create a different “product’’. A really wanted one, not only because of the society (talking about the many
parents out there who bring life to this world just to fulfil somebody else’s
wishes or the ones who follow the “rules’’ of the world). A thinking
individual, thought to question and examine the world he/she lives in and
actually able to bring intellectual value to this planet. If not, then again, what
differs us from the animals. Just so that someone will take care of us when we
get old?
Recently someone told me that there are two places on Earth
where hell exists. One of them is in the heart of the really poor individuals who are truly on
a survival mode. What can I eat next? How to feed my kids? And who can blame
them for not being compassionate, empathic and not able to be functional human
beings when all they think about is surviving. The other ones are the 1% or
more who are extremely rich and are so over satisfied that they are literally
only on consuming mode and are not
able to communicate with anything else rather than material things. There is no “emotional currency’’ for them. Their love language, their way of speaking is
only limited by materialism. Last but not least, there are the ones in the
middle, the average person who is very limited by the material comfort which
usually gives the comfort to express yourself to the wider public. Because think
about it, if you are a person with no status
in this world, nobody really cares what you have to say. At the same time, you
are not on a survival mode, so you actually ask yourself the questions above,
you are able to think (if you want to). You have the luxury to ask the
universal questions. Why are we the way we are? What is the purpose of life? We
CAN ask and question because we don’t survive day by day And exactly at this social layer lays the biggest problem. The ones in the
middle which leads us to my “social’’ point of view.
If you are an average individual and you have your decent
job and have enough income to live a normal life, you have the power –
mental and physical to actually stand your ground and seek for answers. But
where are these people? The ones who have this opportunity, strive to the “next level’’ and what is considered as next level? Usually it’s the ones on the material top.
We want to be like them. We want fast cars, beautiful girls/guys to fulfill our
emptiness, to make us better, to increase our “value’’, to make us important.
Back to my “spiritual’’ reasons, we don’t invest in our higher self which
makes us humans with brain, with feelings and the opportunity to give. Kids and
animals are not able to do that. They need others to give them. Animals need
feeding or if they are in the wild life they can only take care of their
infants and of them by providing food. Kids can only give presence and love. We
can give more. Create a better future for us, for them, for the world we live
in. Instead, we strive for material growth, for more cars, more houses, more,
more and less. Less. Too many plusses equal a minus. And that f**** us up. At the end we sacrifice
our assets in order to be approved by the society, to be valued by our surroundings, but
we gave nothing valuable to the world, we helped with nothing to make this
place better when we could. Instead we consumed it. And it all comes back to us
with more emptiness.
The world has been working in a certain way for many years.
Probably as human beings we have been like that for many centuries. But the
freedom and exposure we have now because of social media, media in general or
the democracy, probably exposed a lot of our weaknesses, way more than actually
underlining the strong characteristics of our souls. We don’t hear so much
about the volunteer work of Angelina Jolie in Africa. Instead, we hear more and
more about Kim Kardashian, her sisters and their success in the cosmetic
industry, this is what the masses want to hear. And probably this is
happening, because the easy way is always tempting. Challenging yourself to
actually elevate to a better version of your own self is hard. Perfecting
yourself from the outside seems to be like the top goal of this century, but
building your character and working on your soul make up is left behind.
Perfect bodies and faces are shown everywhere and that also “produced’’ many
f’up minds ready to sacrifice their bodies and souls in the name of the total
perfection of their facade. Elevating yourself in the material matter is what
everyone wants, but does it bring peace to our minds and souls? What actually
does? We all took the easy path of either staying in our bubble, comforting
ourselves with materialism or just surviving.
So, at the end each and every layer of the society is broken
on a major level. Isn’t able to receive, it is not able to give. And everybody
keeps thinking everybody else is f**** up and they are probably wrong and we are
actually RIGHT. The Syrian woman thinks others took her home and becomes unable
to help her neighbors in their grief. The multimillionaire who gives everything
to his wife but comfort and a hugs does not understand why is she not thankful
for everything else. The American people don’t understand why the Bulgarian
girl is still striving for more, even though it seems she has it all by coming
to the States and sacrificing everything she knows for it. Everything is
relevant. Do you think you are f**** up or the world around you is? If you admit
that you are, what are you actually doing about it to make yourself a better
person and therefore widen your vision and make the reality around you a better
place?
Are you f’up and why,
XoXo
