The century of loneliness

St. Valentine's day is just around the corner. It is the most romantic moment of the year, so I decided to choose a topic which concerns everybody in the world and it is of course: LOVE. A topic which is a cliche, old like times, it inspires artists and it is something that we still haven’t understood completely. During the centuries the people changed and therefore the way that they love changed as well. Nowadays, our every day is so busy, everything is so fast, so we forgot that the beauty in life sometimes is just to sit and watch how the world is moving and to pay attention to the little joys of life. If we consider the sunrise is one of the small beautiful things in our world, love is one of the greatest. Mahatma Gandhi, a very wise man, once said that each night when he goes to sleep he dies. And the next day when he wakes up, he is ‘’reborn’’. Every morning we have to wake up a better version of ourselves and our goal has to be to change each and every second.

Unfortunately we have changed but may be not in a positive way. We chose the path of technological progress, now we can speak and see our friends even if we are on the other part of the world, we can communicate with people even from miles away. But are we really showing love when they are physically next to us? We are so many on this planet and at the same time we feel so lonely and so far from each other. Today everything is very easy, if we break something, we simply buy a new one and replace it. Before fifty years was not like that. If somebody breaks his stove for example, he spends time to fix it in order to make it work again. The same was happening things like  marriage and relationships. People were not allowed to divorce so easily like today. They had to pay attention to the problems and find a solution in order to recover their relationships. Nowadays is totally the opposite, if your relationship is broken, you just replace the person with somebody new. We are choosing the easy way because we forgot the meaning of the word ‘’fight’’. After all the joy of life is the fight and it doesn't matter for what.

Now when everywhere in the world is Valentine's day I see hearts, cards with love messages and flowers but I don't see love in the faces of the people. Everyday should be a celebration of love and we should say ‘’I love you’’ more often because may be we will not have the opportunity to say it tomorrow. We are so into our work and success but even if you become a president it doesn't cost anything if you are not the president of someone's heart. Deep inside everybody want to love and be loved but what we are actually doing about it?

We prefer to sell our days for money but the world doesn't need more successful people, there are enough of them. There are scientists who can find a cure for our bodies, enough doctors to make us more beautiful from the outside. But what about the inside, who will heal our hearts and may be it is our souls that need a surgery?! "The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds", said Dalai Lama. The truth is that in every human being lives the sparkle of the universe and the light of God, every person can be the doctor for his own soul. If we can do that we can have the balance between technological progress and an evolution inside of us. But first we have to make love revolution to bring back the energy of love on earth and to have the luxury to feel more and stress less.

Very good example is the book "The monarch who sold his Ferrari" by Robin Sharma. There the main character manages to make the balance between harmony inside and good lifestyle. You can still drive a Ferrari and be able to use your money for good and to love with the bottom of your heart. But it takes some time of self education and awaking of your soul. Usually the people make their pockets full in a direct ratio to becoming empty inside. There are few people who managed to be like the "monarch who sold his Ferrari".

If you also want to live in peace with yourself and to be surrounded by love, you can use this romantic day as your new beginning. The life is too short to live without love and it is only you who can unlock yourself for it's great powers. It is only you who has the key.
 Happy Valentine's day
XoXo
